Background

Sherington Primary School sits in the heart of Charlton, London, serving children from nursery age through to year six. It’s a large, diverse community school with a clear identity: creative, ambitious and genuinely child-centred. Their ethos is built around helping every pupil “Aspire, Believe, Create, Achieve,” and they back it up with a curriculum that blends strong academics with real-world learning, arts, sport and digital skills.

The school has a long-standing reputation for being inclusive, supportive and deeply connected to its local community. They put a lot of weight on curiosity, creativity and independence, the kind of environment where children are encouraged to think for themselves, not just tick boxes. With committed staff and engaged families, Sherington has shaped a culture that feels purposeful and progressive rather than traditional or rigid.
